Comment on: Obama's Candidacy Underscores Crosscurrents of Race and Politics

@jaazman

I would very much like to throw a brick through that illegible wall of CAPS you erected in the space above me. I've made no attempt to read it, as the first image that came to my mind when I saw it was that it was a potential obstruction that needed to be dealt with before allowing it to prevent my ascension back up towards the top of the page.

Comment on: The five stages of public radio pledge drives

They need to fire everyone who has been involved so far. Hire some talented people and put together a service that people and companies will want to sponsor, so the listeners can listen for free because the program is making money. If you're gonna b e in radio, you gotta sell advertisements.

Comment on: Number of registered domain names keeps on growing

@BartTheBear

I see the domaining business (loosely defined as domain owners who profit from either resales of said names, parking, or through the development of low-maintenance sites and mini-sites) as being more in competition with the unregistered names and the registrars than with other domain resellers re-developers.

When the secondary market becomes the first line of thinking for those in need of a single, specific name we have won (as an industry). Our real competitors are the registrars and more specifically the unregistered names. The less often people seek first to register a new name before scouring the aftermarket offerings the better.

Comment on: Dogfighting referee tied to Vick gets 13 years in prison

@hondadude94

"Just because Vick was a SuperStar in the NFL he gets better treatment. Thats just wrong."

It's not necessarily that prick -- excuse me -- Vick's NFL credentials that got him the short sentence. It's the money. It wouldn't make a bit of difference if one was an NFL star, an award-winning actor, influential politician, Wall Street tycoon or Fortune 500 CEO. If they can buy the judge, the jury and the court, the chances are that the sentence will be lenient if there's even a sentence.

Money has its way of shaping "justice". Remember Kenneth Lay, the notorious Enron CEO who stole from his own employees? He got off without ever serving a single day of his sentence when President Bush issued an executive pardon less than a month before he was due to start his sentence.

Don't believe the B.S. that he "died". He didn't really die. He was unofficially pardoned by the President, who saw to it that the FBI left him alone after he faked his death and moved to Europe or wherever he's gone since his faux closed-casket "funeral" in France that was attended by the elite of the elite, including none other than President Bush, who even went so far as to slap the American public in he face by speaking at that scumbag's fake funeral.

I'm not even a Bush-basher, but he really pissed me off with that one.

The point is, the more money you have, the more you can get away with.

@MarkCarras

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's visualized Michael Vick being sodomized in prison and enjoyed the thought.

As a Pit-Bull owner, I can't even fathom what's inside the heart of a person who could do that to a dog, much less someone who actually enjoys killing and abusing animals 1/5 their size. I wonder what kind of thought patterns occupy the mind of such an evil person. I admit I have something of a morbid curiosity about that, but at the same time I know I don't really want to know.

At least in Vick's case, the quarterback has become the receiver. (that was a really bad bad joke)
