People surely have started using other services like Mixx & StumbleUpon but nothing satisfies them more than getting their stories on the Digg frontpage. I find it funny that almost all the newbies I come through know about digg but not about mixx, delicious, reddit or SU. They don't even know how digg works but they still submit their stories & even ask me to digg their 365 day old story! From a publisher's point of view, Digg is THE best source of traffic out of all digg-like sites. Each of my post that gets on the frontpage of digg brings me a minimum of 50k visits - max it has no limits! No matter how good the mechanisms of other social media sites are - the fact is that they'll have to work hard to develop a user base like Digg currently has.
