  2. Wow, that is sad. I sure hope those girls get tried as adults, they planned it out well, and that deserves the maximum penalty possible.

I know this will most likely ruin the teens life, but that is just the consequence of the decision they made to beating this poor girl.

If they did beat her due to something she said, or wrote, that is still not excuse-able. Again, sure hope they get tried as adults, and pay for their crime, with a boat load of mandatory counseling as they would need it showing this behavior.

  5. I'm confused. Girls are nicer than boys. They are kinder, gentler, more innocent, more loving, work harder, are smarter, and do better in school, work, play, and every possible endeavor, when men aren't there to screw up the world.

Somewhere, somehow, this is a man's fault, isn't it?

  6. Its the parents fault. Raise your children properly! Can't believe the state of children nowadays.

  7. And we truly wonder how far from apes we are.....but mostly it IS the parents!!!

  8. @hoodlum

Either I'm not sensing your sarcasm or you obviously aren't a girl. Girls are vicious, especially to each other. Have you ever seen the movie Mean Girls? It's sadly accurate. While girls don't usually turn to violence like this, they are generally much more cruel to each other than men.

  9. This is really a sad story, I wonder what made these girls act this way towards one of their peers??

  10. while its terrible what they did, i don't think they should be tried as adults because fact is they're not.

  11. Watching that video, I really want to see her grab that broom (or mop, or whatever it is behind her in the corner) and just lay waste to all those other girls.

  12. @salex absolutely they should be tried as adults. They were old enough to give a human being severe and long last trauma, they're old enough to pay the price for it.

They may not have realized the true consequences of their actions (as far as criminal prosecution goes) but it's obvious that they wanted to hurt that girl and a message needs to be sent to young people that it's not ok to beat someone in the head until they need hospitalization. If they parents won't do it, the the criminal justice system will. Good grief.

  13. @korihill,

My statement above was sarchastic; the one here is not:

I'm only reflecting the statements that we constantly get from the press - that girls work harder, are more disciplined, are kinder, gentler, and in all ways better and more superior human beings than men. Statements from press, from congress, and and pseudo-scientific studies massaged to show that only women are victims, and if men are victims, they are only victims of other men, and if they are assaulted by women, they deserved it, either because of some cruelty that they did individually, or because of the overarching patriarchy that renders all women helpless and all men aggressors.

  14. The question is - what can *you* do so *your* daughter does not make the news in either role? And if you don't have a daughter yet, it's just the right time to start thinking about that :)

  16. i have to agree that girls can be crueler than boys, actually.

and i don't agree that 15 year olds are old enough to go to Prison.

clearly you cannot drive a car, smoke, drink, vote, do cocaine, join the Army, etc. at that age, so why should they have to go to prison? i'd love to see an answer to that, that isn't emotional.

    anyone?

  17. the very nature of this is not adult. they are not adults. to say that they should be treated as adults is completely unjust, although i'd still like to hear a reasoned, ADULT argument to the contrary...i won't hold my breath, however....

  18. Some of them are adult, and should be tried as adults. The youngest of them should be tried as children.

  20. i figured no one would respond thoughtfully to that. because i'm right.

hell, when the Nuremberg Principles are finally brought against Bush (sometime around hell freezes over, probably) i'd argue that Bush's actions are not adult enough for him to be tried!! you know what i mean?
