bloomberg.com — The Fed, ECB, Bank of England, Bank of Canada and Sweden's Riksbank each cut their benchmark rates by half a percentage point. Switzerland also took part. Separately, China's central bank lowered its key one-year lending rate by 0.27 percentage point.

  1. U.S. stocks ended 194.58 points down despite the historical coordinated emergency rate cuts by 6 countries. The last time and only time there was anything similar was in 2001 when the ECB (European Central Bank) cut interest rates with the Federal Reserve.
