  1. Al Qaeda remains the single greatest threat to the United States, Hayden said in a speech to the Atlantic Council. "If there is a major strike on this country, it will bear the fingerprints of Al Qaeda."

"He is putting a lot of energy into his own survival — a lot of energy into his own security," Hayden said in a speech at the Atlantic Council in Washington.

    1. @McCaffertyHimself I disagree. I think the single greatest threat to the United States right now is the failing economy and everything that goes along with it.

    2. @calinazaret Please remember that I am quoting Mr. Hayden, who is speaking from a foreign policy perspective. Obviously, the failing world economy is the greatest threat right now to virtually every country on the globe. But from an enemy standpoint, Al Qaeda is a far bigger threat than Iran, North Korea or any other country.

    3. @McCaffertyHimself If we know that Bin Laden if concentrated on his own survival, then why don't we know where he is? I know this is a cynical statement but statements like this "He is putting a lot of energy into his own survival — a lot of energy into his own security," are conjecture or, as they would like to say, "analysis". What are the first four letters in that word? "Anal". I don't trust our intelligence because we purged the very people (Muslims) who could help us. Until Obama gets ahold of or intelligence agencies I am not going to completely trust what they say. I agree that Al Queda remains are single greatest "outside" threat. We just need to understand our enemies and our friends in order to combe the threats.

  3. Capturing or killing bin Laden will not make a dent in terrorism. His role was to light the match that ignited, in his world, a classic call for violent struggle against oppression (revolution). The various entities swear allegiance to the cause, not to the man.

    1. @Wordherd Without a doubt all of Al Qaeda is a grave threat; however, when you kill or capture the enemy's top man, that is very demoralizing for your enemy. Just from a feel good standpoint, the US needs to get the top guy who was responsible for 9/11. It would help US morale tremendously.

    2. @McCaffertyHimself

I agree with you that getting bin Laden would be good for American morale. But to assume that the reverse is true for the enemy is a pre-9/11 way of thinking.

This is not a traditional enemy. The enemy is not a nation. It's a violent movement. It doesn't see things the way you and I do. "It" is a collection of people from many backgrounds all sharing a fully immersed life in a community of people theologically-driven to change the order of things through violence. They're all over the world, disconnected as much as they're connected. In their minds their actions are entirely justified, with or without bin Laden. It is far more than bin Laden or even al Qaeda at this point. Sorrow, mourning - yes. Drop in morale, demoralizing? No .

  4. Obama is a Arab 43.75%, 50 white and 6.25% African. He is caucasian/Arab not Black. He doesn't have enough black to qualify to call himself Black. CaucasionObama's grand father was 88% African Arab and 12.50% African. He claims to be white 50% and African American 50%. Now we know why he doesn't want his birth certificate shown to the public. He has lied to American and been dishonest with us. How do you feel being lied to like this. He is a Muslim African Arab.
Google Obama Arab. Surprise Obama we found out
