  5. THIS IS BULLSHIT! Yeah I said it! The fact that this is even posted makes me sick. Now people are airing their dirty laundry and dragging Mixx into it! Mixx commentors are NOT ANTI-SEMITIC! To even say that is both ridiculous and childish! Because a few people have different viewpoints then you cannot go and blame MIXX COMMENTERS. I am a Mixx commenter, and if I were Anti-Semitic, then quite a few of my friends in the Social Media world would not be talking to me. I am not anti- Arab either. I find it very dis-heartening that a small spat had to be turned into a blog post WITH THIS BULLSHIT headline and then shared on Mixx for everyone to see! GROW THE FUCK UP!!!

    People are sharing their thoughts on the issue and are entitled to their opinions. You have submitted many anti-Arab posts to Mixx in the past. I don't mind because it is your opinion. I even recently voted one up and commented on how it is important to see both sides of the story. http://www.mixx.com/stories/281078/_lebanon_is_a_hizbullah_state_gov_t_has_become_irrelevant

    Mixx is a community where people have the freedom of speech. This blog post took everything in the comments out of context. Additionally, NEVER EVER blame Mixx for the conversation people have on their site. They didn't pull it down because they respect their users' opinions and standpoints. Plus, they can't give you preference over the other users just because your stomped your feet and whined. Mixx democratizes information and allows the community to share stories and their thoughts. It shows people the various sides of the story, unlike traditional media where you are only exposed to one angle. Social media has revolutionized the way information is dispersed and consumed.

    And the story is 100% accurate to YOU but not to everyone. If you don't like others sharing their opinion, go back to reading the newspaper and watching TV news.

  8. @DerivativeRe Dude it is not 100% accurate. The Title Says "Mixx commenters Viciously Anti-Semitic" Mixx commenters are not Anti-Semitic. I am heavily involved in Mixx and have a lot of Jewish and Israeli friends. So this potrays Mixx as being a breading ground for hate and antisemitism, which is what pissed me off in the first place.

  9. This is a ridiculous joke. If there were specific issues and concerns, they should have been left to reporting. Those responsible for airing the dirty laundry are the ones that should be banned if anything.

    See, with some people, you just cannot win as far as issues relating to Israel/Palestine or Judaism/Islam is concerned. Say something one way, another will get pissed off. Tolerance should flow two ways.

    By placing private correspondence on the web as 'evidence', you have totally withdrawn whatever support you could ever have claimed to have had from users. Takes a troll to know a troll.

    Ok, please re-read my comment. I said, "You have submitted many anti-Arab posts to Mixx in the past." I never said you wrote it. Besides, you commented on the submission. Your opinion was clearly there for all to see. So get YOUR facts straight.

    You only think Mixx is turning into Digg because they aren't doing what you want. And the reason people are talking to you is because you are talking back. You are telling people what you think and saying that this post is 100% accurate. Plus, the person who submitted this post is the same person who WROTE the post... and yet you keep saying you submitted it and not to shoot the messenger. Interesting... Are you theposthumousluger?

    ALSO, I suggest you look up what "hate speech" is. Just in case you have no time to look it up, here is a definition:
    "Hate speech is a term for speech intended to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence or prejudicial action against a person or group of people based on their race, gender, age, ethnicity, nationality... "

    Where did the conversation degrade, intimidate or incite violence against Israel?!?!?! These two users are exchanging their viewpoints based on the submission. They are giving their opinion about what is going on. When Jasmine mentions how some Pakistani people are against Israelis, she is talking about what other people think. Why can't she share that and educate people about how other cultures are interacting with one another?

    Anti-Semite definition: "One who discriminates against or who is hostile toward or prejudiced against Jews."
    The only mention of Jews was when @Yoda said that they don't believe in Jesus... Again, how is that anti-semitic?

  18. @derivativere, Damn and I thought I had left anti-semites behind when I left Russia. To my shock and surprise my college friends would actually joke about Jews and money. Back in Russia some classmates would call me a stupid Jew but never a stingy Jew lol. That's an American invented stereotype of the Jews since so many talented Jewish people have taken full advantage of the American Dream (by getting an education and becoming successful the honest way).

    Those statements from @yoda and @jasmine can be interpreted in a variety of ways including anti-semitic. It can seem like they are taking the political issue of the war to the next level - xenophobia. I would be interested in statements about that from them both.

    The Hollywood remark sounds like simple jealousy to me.

    Anyways, I'm not going to comment on this anymore or take sides. I learned not to pay attention to ignorant and hateful remarks a long time ago. Good luck to all involved.

    (and I'm guity of that too anyway) but you can't make critics about
    Israel's policies and actions look like anti-semitic comments!
    It's not fair and darn anti-democratic! Imagine if every one of us was
    doing the same about stories submitted on here that criticise
    our own respective countries... There would be no discussion
    allowed and even worst, there would be no stories submitted anymore!

    Granted, hate inciting stories have no place on here [and anywhere else] but
    stories that criticise our governments actions are still news and, let face it,
    no government on this planet is beyond criticism...

    French governments have done bad things in the past and will probably do more in future...
    Should I stop and try to bury any story daring mentioning those actions?
    Of course not! because it's NOT about the French people themselves but about their governments.
    There is a big difference there and it's very important to see it.

    Israel's governments have been accused many times of doing things they should not have done,
    especially when it comes to its secret service... So what?! It's the same with the USA and the CIA
    or France even (remember the shameful Rainbow Warrior affair?) for Pete's sake!

    So there are [allegedly] some spies from our respective countries in other countries,
    kinda comes with the job description for a secret agent methinks... If we pretend that
    our respective governments would not allow such a thing, then we are very naive...

    A lot of bad things have been done around the globe by many governments in the name
    of national interest and it's bound to piss some people off. So they talk about it and criticise
    those actions... Why not?!

    Perhaps it was not said in a diplomatic manner, but bringing the anti-semitic card at that point,
    considering that your government might not be as pure as you thought they were is not only
    a waste of time and energy but also a very dangerous move as in future if genuine anti-semitic
    comments are made (though I don't believe that will happen) on here any arguments against
    them will have been already lost thanks (not) to your blind faith into your own national elected
    representatives...

    In short: please, don't confuse criticisms against Israel's policies and actions with anti-semitism...

    The great failure of modern liberalism -- not Classical Liberalism, its morally objective forbear -- is its bankrupt, perverse, dangerous, devolved interpretation of "tolerance". One after another here, you line up, chests puffed, defending the free exchange of ideas as your religion, then you exit proud. Proud, and unaware that the world you seek is just a bit further away, your own ideals bleeding and betrayed.

    I assumed liberalism recognized that tolerance implies the necessity of it's own defense -- accept all points of view as relatively moral, and soon the wide eyed "progressive" is accepting the bigot as a treasured contributor. In our case here, the self-defined advocates of justice and equality find themselves defending the comments of one who claims a band of nefarious Jews are pulling all the strings. You all seem proud of what you've done and are doing.

    In this case it's the Jews you sacrifice to your spineless definition of "tolerance". Leaving us to fend for ourselves. Not to worry. Us Jews, and Israel, will be fine.

    Though I don't believe terribly many of you commenters are prepared for when the intolerant choose to focus their sights on the identities your selves hold dear.

  40. The underlying problem here is that Mixx.com has been used to forward (and dispute) issues related to the war between Jews, Muslims, and Christians that has been going on for 1500+ years. That's a sad thing but not unexpected.

    As a man who is finally freeing himself from the dichotomous dogma of Christianity I was force-fed as a result of growing up in the States, I've come to realize that when it comes to the rhetoric surrounding the Christian/Jewish/Muslim War that I DON'T CARE.

    AS LONG AS THIS CENTURIES-OLD WAR CONTINUES TO HURT AND KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE; I WILL VILIFY ALL WHO PARTICIPATE AND IGNORE THIS RHETORIC TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.
