  1. China's sovereign wealth fund is a major player in financial investments. For them to completely back away from investing in the West is a huge blow to western economies. This could spark a rise in US interest rates because China has been a big investor in US treasuries securities and in similar securities like Fannie Mae and Ginnie Mae.

    2. @McCaffertyHimself - Yeah, but similar is not the same. China is probably knee deep in western financial securities right now and not a darn thing they can do about it. There are only so many investments world wide to choose from and they can't afford to pull out at losses. Probably they are making noise, that is this fund is, in order to encourage more aggressive movement on bailout issues so that their current investments do not continue to erode. Sorry this comment is not very timely.
