  1. Way to go, Trent! You gotta hand it to the man - he has looked at the music industry's failures, and come out on top. NIN FTW

    3. @cGT2099 but, didn't they say they couldn't stop the lawsuits already in progress? pretty sure that's not all that difficult.

there is some very faint, small, hope out there somewhere. but, considering they only just now caught on to the rocket-science-level concept that torturing disabled single mothers and elementary school students is bad P.R., it might be awhile.

    4. @dotlizard I believe they said they'd stop suing individuals, but continue to go after ISPs, torrent sites, etc. So you could still get your internet cut off if your ISP gets hassled.

  2. I hope more bands continue to step up to the plate and do this. It seems both Nine Inch Nails as well as Radiohead have both been successful in these ventures.

  4. The smart money would be on starting a music label that did the same as Radiohead and NiN did, you wouldnt make as much but I'm sure you would get lots more acts for being far more ethical that the rest.

  5. This is a milestone. Although, I don't think Reznor could have built as his large audience without a major record label.

    1. @rageagainsttherobots - the internet is the largest record label out there now.
