  2. I'm not saying this is or isn't true, but I can't find mention of it on one single legitimate news site. I searched google news, but maybe I wasn't using the right terms.

Until then, I can't really vote this up. And no, I'm not really an Olbermann fan. The site just seems iffy on the facts and all they do is link to themselves or other blogs on this article.

Any more info, drop me a reply, as I'm interested in reading about it.

    Thanks!

  3. @Honest_Ape I'm keeping an eye on it, apparently another warrant has been issued in California. Nothing on any of the major news sites yet though.

Thanks, man! I'm just always a bit leery about believing anything (from the left or right) that only shows up on blogs. Not that people on either side of the fence ever say things that aren't true.....

  5. @Honest_Ape -- I agree with you honest...isn't it funny or a mere coincidence that this comes up after Keith Olbermann went on that tirade about George W. playing golf being more important than the Iraqi war? Hmmm...I love politricks....

  6. Most people don't know this, Olbermann used to be a Sports commentator here in town. The con is on all of you who think he actually is being serious.

    He's in it for himself.

What, a guy can't be both? I knew he was a Sports commentator before I saw him on MSNBC. Shouldn't we judge him by his content since? Bill O'Reilly used to work on fucking Inside Hollywood, and a lot of people seem to like him.

I'm not saying he is, or isn't, a worthwhile commentator. I just think your comment is ridiculous, and irrelevant.

  8. Many Anchors and Talk Show Hosts did something else before they got into Political Commentary. Rush started as a DJ. You got to get you foot in the door somehow.

Yeah, I wasn't calling it either way. I've just seen hijinks from bloggers both liberal and conservative, and I never believe a word until I see at least one legitimate news source. It sucks that people on either side of an issue feel the need to occasionally make up shit to attack people they disagree with.

That was my point exactly. You can't judge a guy based on their first few jobs. Otherwise, I'd be forever branded a busboy and dishwasher!

I get that he's not different, but what's that got to do with his past as a sportscaster? Isn't that his personality? His past job IS irrelevant. Unless you can say that his job as a sportscaster created his character traits. From what you're saying, it didn't, because he was already that way.

Should people judge you by your past jobs or by your actions and character?

It's not my point of view, it's not relevant based on the definition of relevant: "pertaining to the issue at hand". His history as a 'caster has nothing to do with his level of seriousness or level of snarkiness.

Should we judge Ronald Regan for his actions as president, or his previous job as an actor in "Bedtime for Bonzo"? Should we judge George Bush for his actions, or the fact that he was a cheerleader in college?

The point being is that nothing he does is from the heart. He's an actor. Period.

We're comparing apples and lemons here--I agree w you in principle but not about
Olbermann, he is just in it for fame. That's my point.
