  2. as an iowan, i took a dim view of her thoughts on iowa.
just so you know, iowa has been first in the nation for some time, and we will do whatever is necessary to keep that distinction.
that said, iowa has a population of about 2,990,000, and only about 6% , or roughly 179,400 iowans participate in the caucus. the state is purple, so divide that number by 2 to get 89,700, divided by 99 counties means about 906 people/county will show up for each party. thats not very many people, so those who show up have a big influence. also, since iowa is so small, there is a pretty good chance you will run into people you know at the caucus. if you love politics and want to be involved at the very beginning of the process, may i suggest considering migrating to iowa (especially if you have trade skills)
also, when the US voters flipped both houses of congress, iowa voters mirrored that move, putting democrats in charge of both houses and the executive. recently, efforts to insert hate into law (anti-gay stuff) were deafeated, and i predict that soon iowa will legislatively create marriage parity. iowa has a severe shortage of skilled workers, and it is my opinion that we can attract the creative class with friendly legislation.

  3. I told you she was opinionated and I hardly ever agree with her on much of anything... but she writes it so well I have to read it.

Now i live in North Carolina... and we don't count and we can't make up our minds... we when from John Edwards to Liz Dole...

I think Iowas Gay right stand is to be commended... I mean for at least a day gay marriage was legal there, if you had an ocean there I would even consider moving there
