  1. I'm pretty excited about this.

On Feb 1, Jupiter and Venus will be visible together to the naked eye.

  4. @Bdog2g2 No- I wish. I love reading about the stuff and someday I'd like to be an ametuer astronomer- but right now I need the sleep when I can get it!

You just need to look at half of my submissions you'll see that I am. My background is physics and math though. I've been an amateur astronomer since I could remember. While growing up in S.C. I could see everything from my house, but I've moved to S. Florida and the light pollution here is horrendous.

My only accomplishment as amateur astronomer is I managed to rig up a webcam (years ago) to my laptop for a little webcam astrophotography. Got a few good pics of Jupiter.

You don't need to be out there every night. Just find out when the next celestial even you want to see is, and go watch it. Simple as that. That'll motivate you to make time for more.

  7. @Bdog2g2 Fair enough, I missed it. I'll feel more comfortable about posting more stories on the subject. Having said this, I bet you'll be aware of the stories before I will! :-) Have a great weekend!

I didn't know about the thing you posted here. I was just saying I'm interested heavily in science/physics/astronomy.
