How Much Does It Cost To Keep A Dog?

dogloversmanual.com — When calculating the cost of keeping your pet, you need to look at several areas. The first is the initial expense of buying your dog and the basic equipment with which to look after him. Then comes the cost of neutering and identification marking.

  2. My boy Sammy the Surf Dog has probably cost me 10,000 dollar in the 5 years he has been with me... I am deaf and he has become my ears... and the love and smile s he give me everyday has made every penny worth it

  9. Get pet insurance. I have 3 schnauzers and two of them never get sick, and one always gets sick. It costs way to much to treat them without pet insurance.

  10. Very little up until about a year ago when our dog, Sam (a border collie) became diabetic, went blind and had been going down hill since. But he is 12 (today actually!) and has given us lots of loyal love over the years. He is still mad when palying with his ball, though. He still thinks he is a puppy. We don't even think about the cost.

  11. It is insanely expensive. My puggle is a sick puppy, and has a digestive bug... costs so much for meds. But his love is worth every penny!!

One of my schnauzers has lots of skin issues and the vets don't know what it is. We think its an allergy, but pinpointing is has been a problem.

I think I'll have to break down and get a blood test, but that'll set me back about 400, and that's with pet insurance.

But you're right, their loyalty for you never wavers. Luka, his brother Koda, and his sister Lulu are my kids and they act like it too. And yes they're all related by blood.

Great article--I think that there are intangible costs also--emotional, psychological.--plus and minus.
