Recently, I learned from Joshua Landis' Syria Comment, my main source for news and analysis concerning Lebanon's eastern neighbor, that Google has blocked the use of its new web browser, Chrome, in Syria.

This is for Opera but there are certain tricks to do this in Firefox too. The general idea is interesting and this is much easier to do in Opera since you can set a shortcut of your own choice to hide unhide all menus.

Chromium is an open-source browser project that is the basis for Google's Chrome browser. Right now, Chromium doesn't support Linux natively, but Codeweavers has created a Linux port called CrossOver Chromium that can be installed free of charge.
