I have stumbled upon a few very interesting ideas in Douglas Hofstadter’s book Godel, Escher, Bach. Although the book deals with something completely unrelated to software, we can apply those ideas to improve software development.

Martin Parry from Microsoft’s Developer and platform group presented the upcoming server version of IIS 7 last week in Reading. The new version has some really interesting features that will make life easier for developers.
