What the Current US National Debt Really Means

@IveFoundit,
You are both correct in a way.
First yea bush was elected on a platform of cutting spending (but he did not do it) and he was also elected on a platform of things like "prescription benifits for seniors" which was massive spending that was both promised and delivered. The key is this is not a republican vs. democrat issue in any way. Clinton spent and borrowed like mad, so did both bushes, so did Regan, so did Carter and the way back the story is the same. Spend, borrow, spend!
Now @IveFoundit you are right too! If you look a the link in the post
http://mwhodges.home.att.net/nat-debt/debt-nat-a.htm
The government has indeed blown a 9 trillion dollar hole in the public debt and the 51 Trillion in unfunded promises on the Social Security books is massive. But of the total 53 Trillion of public debt 13.8 trillion is CONSUMER DEBT that the American citizen owes. Of that about 3 trillion is unsecured debt! Of that 3 Trillion 1 Trillion is considered "toxic" by the lenders, meaning that they don't ever expect to get it repaid!
Oh and U.S. businesses owe about 10 Trillion of that 51 Trillion as well. When you add the Social Security debt to the Public Debt we end up at 104 Trillion! Then there is the off the books "Emergency Funding" which is where the first 83 billion of the Iraq War came from and the 168 billion to fund the economic stimulus came from. So there alone is 250 billion not accounted for that we know about. (that alone is another quarter trillion).
With numbers like this consider the gray book keeping by Enron and Worldcom and the amount we are really in the hole for is probably enough to make anyone sick beyond words.

The entire thing is a scam, the prices are falsely manipulated. Why? Because we are stupid enough to pay the price! Want to fix this, general strike, 14 days, done.

Global Warming: A closer look at the numbers

OK with some of my recent posts is looks to some like I am becoming a closet liberal. Not so, I am a Libertarian man! Go Ron Paul, seriously though when the global warming stuff comes up I always want to look at the real numbers. So what is the biggest factor that contributes to the Greenhouse Effect? Water, so in the words of Hyde from That 70's Show even if we make a car that "runs on water man" it may be worse overall then what we have now.

@Vanessa - I know what you mean I have been watching other shows. That host lady thinks everything is "wonderful" to an over used point and I am sure they may not think my freezer full of deer meat is exactly "wonderful", LOL. Yet you know when one side of society is completely to the extreme on raping the land and profit at all cost it is a natural extension that some will go completely to the opposite end of the spectrum. The shows I like were all on gardening, some of the total "talking ones" bored me.
@Yoda, yea it is good survival info and it may some day (perhaps sooner rather then later) be needed. I do have one concern for the guy's efforts though. Notice how he has many varieties of the same type of plant so close together. Even with heirloom seeds he will have issues with his seed stock he is so concerned with due to cross pollination. For instance when saving seeds is a goal peppers varieties should be at least 50 feet apart with a unrelated flowering crop between them and with tomatoes the distance is minimum 100 feet again with at least unrelated flowering crop between them.
The F1 seeds will be fine - though possibly not true to parent it is the F2 and beyond production and reliability will decline. Anyway my earlier post about the Nazis at Monsanto is what let me to this.

OK I am not your typical "Bush Basher", etc looking for anything and everything to prove our nation is evil but damn, hell, how can we do this. This is one of the biggest piles of crap we have ever taken on another nation. This is profiteering on a really slimy level!

I think they just wanted to avoid billboards with Sarah Jessica Parker's face on them. Things that make you go bhaaaaaaaa. I could never put my finger on it until I heard her called "foot face". Then I was like yea, her face does look like a foot, thats it, that is what is so weird about her. No wonder the other blond chick on that show always upstaged her.

I just wonder how he will do as he takes on better and better fighters. His weakness is clearly anyone that can take things to the ground. I figured that would be the case when I first saw him on YouTube.

It has been THREE years, three years. Get a job, get a life, go find a new place to live. I had tons of sympathy in the beginning, two years into it most of my sympathy had wained at this point I have none. You can't sit your ass in a free trailer for three years and then blame our government for your problems, no matter how inept and incompetent our government is. There is a point where people must be personally responsible for their actions.
The liberal author goes to great lengths to point out how some of these people have "problems" and find it hard to move. OK like some are well what did he say, "others are convicted felons or have drug and alcohol addictions". Yep pillars of the community!
Here is the deal most of these people with problems had these problems years before the storm, the government nor you nor I should be expected to solve them. To those who are really disabled there are programs in place to the rest if you can walk, talk and move, get a job, get a crappy job, get any job. They just lived rent free for THREE YEARS.
OK off the soap box just don't look for any sympathy for me with these folks after three years of providing them a free living.
