In the largest fish kill in Maryland this year, about 100,000 dead menhaden blanketed a cove near Annapolis, MD this weekend, killed by a fatal drop in oxygen levels in the water. Dead fish were so numerous, residents thought they were leaves.

This was the first time CBF planted market sized oysters (4 inches) on restoration reefs.In the past, oysters were only grown for one year to 2-1/2 inches and then transplanted. The larger oysters may be more resistant to pollution, disease, and predation
