The Bear on the Moon (can't remember who wrote it but its an abiding memory), the folk of the faraway tree, Enid Blytons, Lord of the Flies- William Golding, Robert Ludlum, Sidney Sheldon, Steinbeck, Amy Tan, Daphne Du Maurier's , The King's General and The House on the Strand.
