This is sad, but if I think about it, quite true. Instead of just technology being the cause, I'd say humans are addicted to control over their environment, and there is nothing more empowering than being in a warm house with a remote serving up whatever entertainment you desire. In nature, especially a camping trip, the roles are reversed.

Although I have sympathy for the employees any time there is a layoff - Yahoo has been floundering in second place to Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple. They have lost focus and are just stumbling around in the dark while those other four companies are innovating and taking the buzz. It's a management and vision problem.

I feel an investment that you agreed to, if it goes bad, too bad. I don't remember anybody bailing out investors in the .com bubble. This has got to work its way through the markets like any other bad investment.
