  4. This guy is good at keeping my attention, great speaker. He does lay it out rather well too and using the phrase global destabilization (or was it climate destabilization?) definitely seems much better than global warming. Its hard to argue against it though I was never for or against the idea of global warming so I wouldnt know where to start if I wanted to. If anyone out there is on the fence or just uninformed this would be a great video to watch.

    Good video but I don't think there's a ton of people saying that global warming isn't an issue. I think awareness is up on this issue. It seems like more and more people agree and are willing to do 'something' but they aren't quite sure what that something should be.

    What policy changes should we call for? How can we change the impacts of global warming and still keep our 'standard of living' as it's put?

  13. That really is a good initiative. More of simple solutions would have an even more of a reach...Ive replaced my lights with the energy saver ones and recycle as much as possible and more importantly reuse even a small bit of paper, switched to online statements wherever possible

    Ive seen this guys video about 6 months ago and glade to see its still making waves.

    Ref who ever mentioned the 'prisoners dilemma', game theory is where the solution for this problem is at. The solution is simple, we need to change our 'legal' system, into a justice system, with the premise being 'thou shall not levy distress' & 'thou shall not exploit another's distress'. The only solution is 'tit for tat' in game theory and that means having a proper justice system where the 'Nasty' cannot dominate, and thus giving a power law (80/20) symbiotic evolutionary stable society-(strategy).     This is definitely a "game theory" approach to the problem, and a rather well presented one, in my opinion. I think his approach frames the discussion in a way that gets beyond the political issues, although some might say that his use of experts could be called into question. I'm glad to see this make it to the top of the MIxx...

  21. This is an awesome clip, it gets to the heart of the matter. Not many of us out there are climatologist, and I doubt we ever will be. I'm not sure how/why we get so wrapped up in thinking we are.

    If every individual made the easy changes what a difference it would make the world- recycle everything, compost, walk when you can, buy energy star appliances (even our television is and I didn't even know it was an option before we started looking), buy locally grown food if you can, landscape with native plants, plant a butterfly garden....

    It is not good enough to only put pressure on government and business- what you do personally makes a difference.

  24. @graiz I'm sorry, but I do totally dissagree with you. There is an unbelievably large group of people who either think global warming doesn't exist, isn't our fault or is not a big problem. I've spoken to these people in my community, and they tell me to stop talking my "crazy liberal garbage." For one, our current president doesn't take the environment seriously at all.

    It is really sad, and I don't know what it's going to take to change these people's minds. It's not about me being a crazy liberal, it's about everyone in the world NOT dying a terrible death. This video was interesting because it takes the focus away from politics, but at some point there with have to be changes in policy. Hopefully our next president will make the environment a priority.
