Wow. :)

  1. Ok. Ima nee

    -a gallon of gas
    -a match
    -and a LOT of water

  2. That's an awesome photograph... It's mind boggling how a site can accumulate so many tires.

  3. I owned my own "tire shop" for eighteen years. Used tires are really hard to get rid of as most landfills won't take them and there's not much recycling of tires going on right now. Here in Illinois they are considered hazardous waste.

  4. That's amazing. Any idea where that is?

  5. Wow, that's serious waste. I read or saw somewhere, a program that incorporates tire rubber into fresh pavement. I guess the result is less road noise and better traction. Has anyone else heard/seen this or have I had a brilliant dream that I should try and patent?

    it was on Beyond 2000 I believe. They also covered how they used ground up tires for race tracks b/c its better for the horses, and the same ground up material is used as a playground material.

    @hdar3415

    They may be hazordeous waste, but here (S. Florida) in the 80's - 90's some genius thought it would be great to build an artificial reef out of about 1.3 million tires. Well they were only held together by rope so after a few hurricanes the tires got loose and began destroying endangered natrual reefs. Now we're paying to have them removed by the Navy.

    Thanks Bdog, I'll stop working on the patent application ;-)

  8. @dimmerswitch

    You can send the savings of the patent application and patent search to me if you'd like. From experience, its a nice lil chunk of change.

  9. wow, Imagine the massive offroad course you can build with all those tires!

  10. Belief it or not but in Thailand we make garbage bins from them, they nice to look at also and are almost indestructible.

  11. How about we send them to the moon? One by One...JK.
