I have no idea how this one done but it sure looks cool. I'd image it would take a lot of time and care to make sure each appendage didn't fuse into the ones next to each other.

  1. Ooo, I've seen huge sculptures like that in person. Very neat.

  2. About 2 years ago I caught a TV show about an art exhibition featuring lots of different kinds of glasswork. The squiddy stuff was one of the pieces they spent more than a few seconds on.
    Each tendril is blown individually, and the end you can't see gets a glass loop blown into it. The loops allow the pieces to be wired to a metal scaffold of whatever shape the artist wants.
