  1. I lived in North Caroina for twp years where Helms was my Senator. I do remember a ver unfortunate advertisement that Helms ran when running for re-election while being challenged by the demovrat who was the Mayor of Charlotte - and a black man. The ad was simply balck hand handing awhite hand a pink slip. Very very uncool. He was forced topull the d from the air.
