Great advice for bloggers and copywriters including what content does and doesn't work with the StumbleUpon crowd, as well as how best to present your material so SU users might enjoy it.

  1. I think StumbleUpon users behaviour is largely unpredictable. So, there might be 1000 users who skip your page, yet about a few hundred others that are attracted by it. In the end, not only the content matters, the total amount of StumbleUpon users also matters, if according to this article, I assume there are a lot!

  2. @bobbytoat -- it is unpredictable, I completely agree. SU has been the #1 source of referral traffic to my main blog for at least 18 months running, but sometimes the stuff I think will work doesn't get any traffic, and stuff that I think has no chance becomes really hot. It's strange, but I can't complain with the traffic. :)
