Rarely known fact about Xena. All the filming is done zoomed in and in close up and all the supporting actors are either midgets, dwarves or puppets because in real life Xena is only 2.5 fee tall. It saves a ton of money on set design apparently.

Anyway regarding who would win in a fight it means backing Xena is like backing a three legged donkey in the derby.

okay, i've heard alot about blind voting and spam. until now i haven't had much to say.
but here goes:

1) blind voting. i blind vote all the time. there are many reasons i give a click without looking at the content backing it up; i reward tid-bits of good information with an acknowledgement, usually an up vote. many times i have seen the content on another site, heard about the story on the radio, read about the story in the newspaper, or maybe the content is part of an ongoing story, like the elections. that is not to say that i never follow links out. i do. but that is only if i want to know more. well submitted content should adequately summarize the main idea of the content. that is one of the things i love about social media. i get lots and lots of good content for my time.

2) spam. i have a very narrow definition of spam; porn and link-jacked articles.
other than that, i figure that a real, live person has an interest in something that is submitted, and it is not my place to judge the validity of their interests. usually, i just ignore stuff i'm not interested in, like brittney spears or paris hilton articles. i figure that if enough people reward good content and ignore bad content, submitters will improve their "game" based on social clues.

3) i consider link-jacking to be a short paragraph with a link to a more comprehensive story. if the writer includes two or more links, and adds a bit of thought connecting them, then its no longer a link jack. if the author adds substantial writing and thought development to the story, its no longer a link jack. if someone embeds a video on their own site, then submits it, it is not link jacked, so long as a hat tip is given (reason? multiple jumps not necessary)

wrap your head around this...

lets say i find a political article that i have my own opinion about. lets say i write my opinion as the title and description, and submit the article as "political opinion". it may be a news article, but with my opinion as the title and description, it becomes an opinion-*my* opinion.

so,

would that be spam, because i'm always submitting my own opinions?

would that be link jacking, because its just a short paragraph with a link to a more comprehensive piece?

i think in some ways we are all guilty of doing all the things everyone here is complaining about.

really, what is mixx but a bunch of link jacked spam? whatever it is, i love it.
