  1. This is so true. Every time I have deployed I have spent my own money for things I knew I would need. Everyone thinks the Marine Corps is fully funded. That is not the case. The Marine Corps 90% of the time uses the left overs. The Marine Corps is a Dept. or the Navy. The Corps has always had a low budget and we have been known to do more with less. That is just the way it has been. The US Army because of their numbers have always had a bigger budget.
    My wife and I got married before I found out I was deploying to Iraq. The war hadn't started yet. I cam home with $550 worth of gear from the PX. She was surprised that I would need all that stuff. Guess what, I needed every bit of it. The Marine Corps is hurting in the Tech Sector, they need new shit all the time, so don't believe what you see in the movies.

  3. @SilentJay74 I believe it, one of my best friends was in the Marines, just got out last year after 2 stints in Iraq, and the stories I've heard about lack of equipment. It really is sad that the US Government is sending them in so ill-equipped.
