Turkey rejects US call for a timetable for withdrawl view story

radionetherlands.nl — In the past few days, Iraq and the United States have repeatedly called on Turkey to conclude its offensive against the Kurdish separatists as quickly as possible. The Turkish operation in northern Iraq began six days ago.

  2. It is interesting to point out that Northern Iraq, where this is 'kicking off' is the region held by the Iraqi Kurds, its also a region with massive oil fields. The Turkish-Iraqi boundary was set up by the British circa world war two and only relatively recently has it come to light that if the border had been drawn just 30 miles further east then Turkey would have had access to this vast undergound reservoir.

    I'll be surprised when Turkey withdraws, if it withdraws, if it goes back all the way and doesn't try to do a pseudo Israeli-Palestine/Occupied Territories land grab.

    It is worth trillions.
