  1. To one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. It's been an honor to have such an extraordinary football player and person be part of the Green Bay Packers. He will be deeply missed!!!! Thank you for all the memories Brett!!!!!!!

  4. I think he was waiting for one last good year. He definitely had one last season.

  5. Let us know if you want to change your MixxID to Aaron Rodgers ;-)
(hope I got that name called out of memory correctly)

For now, I'll stick with Brett. However, we have seen potential in Aaron Rodgers so in the future you never know. We'll find out!

  7. It's a sad day in our house.... Married to a WI boy, at least we got to see Favre play at lambeau on XMAS day, and also the monday night win in OT against the Broncos. That night I also got to meet Deanna (sweetest thing ever!), was on the halftime clip w/ our sign for breast cancer awareness - and she autographed it for us. Then we both got crushed by the stupid giants. (I am from NE, and a big Brady fan, of course) but you can't help but love Brett.

I was fortunate to have been at the Snow Bowl on 01/12/08. It was truly a memory I will never forget. Lambeau has such a mystique. It's unexplainable!

This is a sad day for all football fans outside of Chicago and Minneapolis.

  11. I was in a hospital waiting room here in Milwaukee when it was announced and people started crying. The local TV channels have been running Favre clips non-stop all day. Here in Wisconsin Packer fandom is like a religion and Favre is treated like a Messiah. It's difficult to explain to people who haven't experienced it.

I hope he gets into coaching, he did a good job with the new players last season.

    Exactly!

I will second that. I know there are Packer fans outside of Wisconsin, but here it's different. Packer fans in Wisconsin live by the Packers and specifically Brett Favre.

Now a bunch of people are probably going to say "C'mon, he's just a football player.", but like zappo said, unless you have experienced it first hand, you won't understand.

I too would love to see him get into coaching.

I think he's going to strike a deal with ILM and have them digitally place him in the games during the 2008 season. That's the only way I see him not completely offing himself. Either that or he's going to get into some amateur video editing and start hacking together 2008 games with seasons prior just to have Favre in them.

I really didn't anticipate this coming. Not after seeing the young looking Favre come back out and play. I don't see how he is going to live without football. He really did live and die for the game. I think he'll have to get involved with the game somewhat. However, I don't think he'd be a good commentator. The only good thing is he likes to hunt in northern Wisconsin, about 10 minutes from my parents home so maybe I'll run into him during the fall.

Even if he doesn't edit the 2008 games, I'm sure many Packer fans will!!!

I have to agree with you there about him being a commentator. He was down here in Doral, FL for a ProAM golf tournament and I managed to get his autograph, but while following him and listening to him I determined that he shouldn't commentate at all.

He's a good ole boy and just wouldn't commentate the way people would expect. But he does seem like a laid back guy. Reminded me a lot of the people from S. Carolina (where I'm from originally).

Reports today are saying he doesn't plan to get into anything. He just wants to mow his lawn and spend time at his home in Mississippi. Many of the radio people here are saying he'll most likely go into seclusion and just enjoy being away from football. I think at first, but he loves the game too much. He'll get involved one way or another.

Lucky for getting his autograph. I got jerseys, magazines, bobble heads, you name it, but no autographs.
