Iraq banned from Summer Olympics

cnn.com — The International Olympic Committee has banned Iraq from competing in the upcoming Summer Olympics games because of what it says is political interference by the government in sports.

  1. Wh a crying shame- the Iraq IOC can't get its act together and the athletes- not to mention a nation that needs events like this to give them pride and unity - gets penalized

  2. I don't get this at all. Here's hoping something happens between now and 08/08/08 that gets this reversed, something tells me that isn't going to happen though.
