juicysnake.com — A recent story was published by Windy Citizen.com about Digg hoping to launch yet another new feature. In 6 months, according to the report, Digg users will be able to create their own Sub Diggs. Wait WTF? Sounds familiar....oh yeah Mixx.com Communities.

  2. Mixx is certainly a step ahead of Digg in functionality, ease of use, loyalty to it's users etc. Why wouldn't Digg want to implement some of the better aspects of Mixx? One thing I really like about Mixx over Digg is that the community is much friendlier and I feel I can be more of "myself" here.

  3. @hdar3415 I agree brother. I also think that these guys all riff off of each other- so hopefully they all get better.

  4. Ok, so how many have sent a message to Kevin Rose and got an answer? Chris and me have talked over these interwebs many times. I even got away with giving him crap about being a fan of that talentless hack Will Ferrel. How are those Digg blogs? Do they have anything even close to The Engine Room? I doubt it. Have you people read that thing? Shockingly easy to understand explanation of some stuff that should be over my simple little brain. Anyways, to my point. I have zero problem with Digg stealing one idea from Mixx 6 months from now. By that time Mixx will have about 20 more at the rate they are going. The problem with Digg is that their ego is way out of control. They think there is no way to get kicked off of the mountain. If life is at all fair Digg will become the Alta-Vista to Mixx'es Google. Where does Propeller fit in this? I think they are one Cuil social news site. :D

As always, my comment was so long it should have been a blog post. Oh well.

  5. Read your entry earlier Joe just didn't have a chance to comment on it or anything. I highly agree with what you said about digg not being original. Every time mixx one ups them, digg all of a sudden feels the need to copy but keeo it under wraps for a while. And your right about the fact that they have 50 programmers and they can't even get something out in a timely manner? Ah the joy of digg thinking they are indestructible even though they aren't.

  6. Yeah, they want to copy the Mixx Commmunities
but the copycats still need another 6 months to get
    those so-called sub D*gg ready?!

Big FAIL for D*gg here :-)

Like Chris said, we are inspired by your comments, feedback and just watching how you use the site. We react as quick as we can to make the site they way you want it.

I can't wait for 6 months from now, a lot of exciting stuff coming down the road.
