   Social media is really the result of Google's inadequacies, if people could use Google to search and find anything they wanted to their wouldn't be as much of a need for social media but this is just proof of how the collective consciousness of people will always be much more interesting and engaging then whatever supercomputers Google or Yahoo can build to process web data.

   @atech human beings are social creatures...i have to disagree that Google had much to do with it. Google's algorithms work based social constructs, in fact. that's precisely why they are so good.
