  1. OK Mixxers, lets get this ball rolling :-)

    1. @DarkNemesis618
I wish you b*stards would stop promising me things which never appear.

First there was ChrisMcGill with a Doom Sphere,
Then there was SilentJay with a Steam Train,
The time after that Bdog promised me an army of monkeys,
And now here you are tempting me with shiny new ball to play with.....

      Well enough is enough.

      Hump-backed or Sperm?

      @DarkNemisis618
Whilst I appreciate the shininess and don't want to appear ungrateful, if we're going to get a ball rolling could it not be a big metal one fixed into concrete?

    5. @DarkNemesis618 Oh, shiny! Albion can't have that, it's mine.

  2. This is great; I'm glad to finally hear some things about what we should be doing rather than what's wrong with mixx.

  3. This is truly a stupendous, stupendous post. And yes, I know, comments that simply say things like "i like it" like this aren't always encouraged, but this was just so so good, that I had to extra emphasize it with a comment. WAY TO GO!

  4. "So, keep your eye out for newbies... Roll out the welcome mat for them! More often than not, people will keep coming back to sites where they’re receiving the most positive interaction."

This worked on me. cGt2099 was very cool when I submitted a dup. He made me feel like this would be a nice place to hang out.

  7. i think the cnn traffic stream retention is an excellent idea. i would like to point out that there are several of these type accounts, and you should consider following some of them.

    http://www.mixx.com/users/nprlistener

    http://www.mixx.com/users/youtubeviewer

    http://www.mixx.com/users/latimesreader

    http://www.mixx.com/users/nytimesreader

mixx ought to make a list of these somewhere...

    1. @polymath22 Yah I agree. For the purpose you point out, but also because sometimes - I don't think I make this mistake anymore, but I'd be like wow, check out that nytimes or whatever have you promoting spammer, not realizing what was actually going on with the account. I think those accounts should somehow be marked with a more accessible explanation... I mean, I'm a pretty heavy Mixx user, I wonder if the more casual Mixx users really understand what's going on with those accounts... or if they think unfortunate bad, misguided things like oh, look at these annoying spammers.
