Spammers are definitely abusing older versions of WordPress, we have seen a lot of pingback spam attempts from WordPress installations, fortunately we have pingback turned off, but it didn't stop the spammers from trying to inject the crud via WordPress. Nice to know the WP folks have patched the issue.

  3. Ah so that's the crap I've been seeing on some of the blogs I manage. I just blocked them as spam and carried on my way.

  4. Upgrading makes a huge difference and if you're on Wordpress you must make sure that you don't miss the boat on this one.
