      @JasonFalls I received a pic of Sarah Palin in a two piece bathing suit, upper piece red and lower piece white stars on a blue field. She is barefoot and holding an M16. Shown behind her is a guy apparently spitting soda from his nose. Not you, I guess.

      Responding to you is my way of getting onto the board this morning with my kickoff of observations about our Imperfect World.

      It is Saturday morning and Hanna is creeping up the coast to arrive in Washington DC metro tonight at about 8 PM. We have had some fine discussion the past couple of days on MIXX about the two parties’ candidates and feels good to have been able to debate and to disagree in civil tone and with respect.
      When I watch the news, shifting constantly between CNN, MSNBC, and FOX, I get my fix being news junky. Generally, CNN seems to be in the middle on most stories. MSNBC has a liberal bias while FOX is extremely right.

      I watch Wolf Blitzer deliver information in his familiar rhythmic pattern with unique halts as he catches his breath. I trust Blitzer to be fair and to ask good questions. I watch MSNBC and appreciate Chris Matthews for excitement. While we know he is a liberal, he seems to be finding the middle in allowing opposition to say their piece before slobbering all over their response. Keith Olbermann is my ideal newsman these days. I like the blend of humor, hard hitting questions, and biting sarcasm. Olbermann is a truth detector. Getting lost in balloons is pretty much where Andrea Mitchell is these days.
      Lou Dobbs got my attention for some time. Then after awhile it dawned on me that while he rants about illegal aliens climbing fences and running across borders, and while he exposes atrocity after atrocity in government deficiencies, it makes no difference. The culprits are not personally threatened as Tim Russert was able to do, so no one cares.

      I used to like the McLaughlin Report, though the constant talking over one another became so nerve racking that I gave it up.

      So what is this discussion about this Saturday morning? I checked the “Breaking News” category and the only thing happening is Hanna. Maybe she is like Sarah Palin, a threatening hurricane turned tropical storm turned mild depression before slipping off the stage, heading back to the cold waters of the north. Wishful think I guess.

      I need a second cup of coffee. Good morning everyone.
