sarah-palin-vp.blogspot.com — I'm sorry, but regardless of your political stance, you have to admit - this was just wrong. After reading the article, I thought, "They really did just spin the title COMPLETELY to destroy a candidate and sell more magazines."

  1. Actually, she has such a track record of lying the real questions is why aren't more of them known.
She was for the bridge to nowhere, then against it AND did not return the money given for the project when it was stopped, is that honest? Like her running mate, McBush who said he was against tax cuts before he said he was for them.
Then McBush said he did not understand the economy and six months later said he understood all about the economy.
Abortion, in 1999 he was for; in 2006 he was against it.
Evil people, in 2005 he called Jerry Falwell an “agent of intolerance” who had an “evil influence” on the Republican Party; in 2006 he said that Falwell was not an agent of intolerance.
Gay Marriage, in 2005 he was against a Federal ban on Gay Marriage; in 2006 he said he would support the ban.
Racism, in 2000 he held Bush accountable for talking at Bob Jones University. In 2005 he endorsed the speaker of a keynote address at white supremacist rallies.
Climate Change, He proposed a bill to address the issue as a Senator; he criticized his own bill as a candidate.
Immigration, in 2005 he wrote a bill on immigration as a Senator with Ted Kennedy ; by 2007 neo-conservatives complained to his campaign so he withdrew his name from the bill and started to attack the same bill as a candidate.
Creationism, in 1999 he said it was a local issue; in 2005 he decided that children should be taught about it in schools.
Veterans issues, served with honor in Vietnam and used the GI Veterans Bill to help cover the cost of his education. In 2007, said that the bill to extend the same benefits to those currently serving our country was not supportable because it was “too generous”.
Campaign Finance and Lobbyists, had proposed legislation on lobbyists though voted against others legislation as “too onerous on the lobbyist community” and had over 100 lobbyists as his hired campaign staff. In fact, his campaign manager was a lobbyist and even made lobbying calls from the so called “Straight talk express” campaign bus.
A few weeks ago Palin was asked about Hillary Clinton. It seems that at the time Palin felt she could not support Hillary because Palin felt that Hillary was “a whiner”. My, my the difference a few weeks can make. Apparently Hillary completely changed during those weeks because at the press conference where Palin was introduced as McBush’s running mate she decided to credit Hillary for the 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling that Hillary’s run had made for society.
Please understand that I am trying to pick a fight with Palin. After all she has a habit of using her state’s government to settle personal grudges (an issue that has her being investigated on multiply charges of ethics violations in her home state). I think I am really going to like this Republican ticket and enjoy voting for the Democratic team of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

  2. In her convention speech Palin said she sold the Governor's jet on ebay. How folksy. But a lie. She tried and no one would buy it. She then gave it to a broker who sold it another way.
She said her kids were sad because she was so tough that she fired the chef in the governor's house. How wonderful to see. But a lie. Stephanie was shifted to three other positions on staff and in each continued to cook!
The McBush/Palin campaign said she turned away the bridge to nowhere (congressional funding to build millions of dollars to build a bridge to an island that is part of Alaska with a population of 50 people).
However, in 2006 what she said was "I would not stand in the way of progress that our congressional delegate in the position of strength that they have right now, their making those efforts for the state of Alaska to build up the infrastructure of Alaska would not get in the way of progress."
223 million dollars were approved by congress which she did not reject. In fact, 25 million went to building the road which led up to where the bridge was supposed to be built.
After the convention she said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were too "big and too expensive to the tax payers". How fiscally conservative. But a lie. They were private companies and not one dime of tax payers money went to them until the bail out that was just announced by the Bush administration.
The issue with her lies are not just that they are lies but lies to make herself seem to be something that she is not.
