  1. yep- Citizen journalism has its ups and downs. This was definitely a "down". We have removed the iReport story from the system. There are plenty of cases where civic journalism has failed as well.. do you remember when the trapped coal miners were reported to be alive 2+ years ago? In reality they were dead and there was 1 survivor.

  2. I would argue that traditional journalism also fails. I remember a story circulating about the President during the last election that forced a big name in broadcasting out of the business.
