  1. Considering that I'm a creative person, this is a bit interesting. It also concerns me. But I won't 'ruminate' on it.

  2. This theory is giving me a mood disorder!!! I do not think there is a definitive connection between creativity and mood disorder, only that perhaps those with mood orders are encouraged to explore their creativity more whereas the more stable masses have their creativity ripped from them before they've managed to hit middle school. This article only feeds the myth that you cannot be mentally stable and be creative at the same time. I consider myself to be a creative person and it it my job to bring out creativity in others. Too often I have to endure comments from coworkers insinuating that my more moody charges will only find success and recognition in the arts. It takes much more than mood and malcontent to make a successful artist, writer, performer, etc. As much as those with mood disorders should be encouraged to explore coping skills to be happy and successful in society, the general public should be encouraged to explore their creative self- if that could be the case, I think we would have a much more whole and productive society.
