  4. i used to Boogie Board at that very beach, still go swimming there from time to time, Solana Beach is just a little north of San Diego, and only 15 miles from where i grew up. i know people who surf in that area regularly.

we can't escape nature, and it's always dangerous to enter another domain where we are far from masters. humans are helpless swimming in the deep, dark ocean.

  5. I would never go in the waters off the Southern California coast. Always hearing of someone getting attacked.

  6. actually northern Cali is probably what you are confused with. the area north of the Golden Gate sees at least one (often more) every couple years...it's called the "red triangle" sometimes...

Great Whites like cold water..the water in SoCal is much warmer and it's actually VERY rare here, like one every 20 years south of LA, i'd say.

  7. i just spoke with my parents, and neither of them, after 34 years in the area, could remember this happening even once anywhere in SoCal.
