Scientists discover quantum mechanical 'hurricanes' form spontaneously

eurekalert.org — University of Arizona scientists have discovered experimentally that when super-cold gas becomes a Bose-Einstein condensate, it can spontaneously spin up what might be described as quantum mechanical twisters or hurricanes.
