Great photo collection - Gangsters from London East End

  1. You know, I found this page to be great. Fantastic photography, I love it.
Digg Admins are just ridiculously sensitive

  2. @cGt2099

Agreed all hail the Digg Prudes. Well now, looks like dimmerswitch has no other choice but to stick with us, and join the Donut Revolution!!!!!

  3. Classic bit of Artistic Photography.

  4. I don't find these photos at all offensive. Can anyone point me to the photographer? I thought I found a book on Amazon with one of these shots in it, but I've since lost that and my searches are turning up nothing.
Also, ironically I posted this from work. ;-)

  5. looks like sumfin ou'a snatch. bew'iful.

  6. LOL It is just what in Russia called "new russians". So reconizable :)....

  7. @dimmerswitch

Wow, I've tried news and image searches in Yahoo and Google, and even tried Flickr, came up empty handed.

  8. Wow black and white photography can even make a bunch goons and thugs look artistic. Very good pics although I'm a little iffy on glorifying what appears to be real deal killers, skinheads, and gangsters.

  9. I'm gonna leave this one at no-vote. Not down or up. The photography is pretty amazing, and some of the shots are really cool, but I can't get past the shots of women being objectified.

Wtf is up with the guy holding a pair of guns to the woman's face? That's not artistic, it's just sick. Like, guy throwing puppy off cliff sick.

  10. @calinazaret: I had trouble with that one too, especially since there is also a little girl crying in the photo. I didn't see these as artistic in terms of content but I did see them as gritty and real.

  11. @mortalwind It's interesting how we all see these a little differently. I saw the photos as exposing rather than glorifying.

  12. this was awesome. - glad I clicked on it.

  13. fine work.

especially when you consider that The Godfather is widely considered the greatest movie ever.

i've seen enough of the art world to realise that this is first rate, top notch stuff, in many people's estimation.

  14. I'm just curious how whoever took this actually got in the situation to take them. No matter because they are all amazing.

  15. Cor Blimey Guv'nor ... These are real nice pics.
I used to live and work there. Glad I don't any more. I would not want to bring my kids up in the East End ... or even in London.
