  4. Not to sound too much like a war mongerer, but I am not 100% against what America did with those 2 bombs. At the time, we were facing an enemy that would seriously fight to the death without really considering surrender. Remember it took 2 bombs to get them to surrender...TWO of them. Were the atomic bombs the answer, I can't say for certain, but the alternative was a land based attack which would have probably caused more casualties on both sides, and not always military personnel. Just to put it in perspective.

    In today's world, such an action would probably have every country with nukes bombing every other country with bombs that are at least twice, probably more, as powerful as the bombs we used back in Japan. We can only hope that it never comes to that, and fortunately, most countries seem fully aware of the dangers of nuclear warfare and would stay away.
