It's Time to Go Veggie

timetogoveggie.com — Yeah, I added it. I'm not some vegan-nazi pushing his beliefs on others. I'm just a vegan willing to share my life. Don't bitch at me for not eating animals, and I won't bitch at you for doing so.

  3. @MishaA Yup! Like I said, don't ask and I won't question. I push nothing, but get questions like these all the time.

  4. @kdaniel179 No question is stupid, except for a few of these, and a great many I've asked before, and been asked before, and those that wonder about maalox, as if it doesn't say what it does on the bottle, but other than that, they're all "not" stupid.

Okay, you're right. I'm just sick of being asked this type of thing. This was a perfect submission, and I thank you for pointing me toward it.

  5. My TAG is spelled incorrectly. It is to read vegEtarian. Sorry. I'm new to spelling. My fault.

  6. @runonearth OK RunOn and On and On. Silly, stupid, dumb, senseless, foolish, obtuse, whatever. Pointless questions, none the less. Funny answers though! Good catch on the "typo."

  7. @kdaniel179 Huh? Yeah! I think we're on the same page, or something.

  8. Run on earth,

I want to!! Were you raised vegan or did you become one?

  9. @SallyD I became one. Again, let me say, I am not trying to push things on people here. I'm not activist. I always say, if you're living the life you desire, you're making the right choices.

So, back to me (what a great topic). I actually used to eat a lot of meat, and then gradually moved into chicken and shit (or wonderful creatures) like that, and then one day a 9 year old ordered a burger with no meat from Burger King in front of me in line. I asked his mom about it (because I'm nosy as hell), and she herself was not a vegetarian at all. She said he just didn't feel right having others die so he could eat.

About a week later, and a great deal of thought, and realizing that a 9 year (who really wasn't a bright kid) had a better understanding (in my opinion only) about things than I did, I became an instant vegan.

I've always been a hippie really, so it made sense, and I cannot say I've regretted anything about it since.

I'm not suggesting you change your lifestyle, but sharing my story about mine. Sorry to be so long winded on my answer. I guess "Became one" would have been more to your liking as far as answers go.

  10. @runonearth lol i don't think you're suggesting i change my lifestyle at all, i am fascinated by your lifestyle though. besides this site is also like a bookmarking platform, so if that's something that you're interested in, i don't think anyone should be mad at you for submitting it.

  11. @SallyD Well, Miss D, that's why you rock, and or, roll. I just like sharing my story. I can go on, if you wish. . . Let me start from the beginning. . .

Nevermind. I've bored enough already. Thanks for reading though. We will be having more story time here from 8 to 9 on every other Monday night.

Not sure what I'm interested in. Isn't that sad? It might be. Let's see how I go from here, and I'll make choices after my busy week. You know how to deal with that stuff? Let's go change Earth for the better, and take from people while doing it. Kik. Kik is like lol, so kik, or lol, ok?

Thanks for the laugh. I became a vegetarian about 6 years ago and was one for 4 years. However, about two years ago, I started suffering from debilitating depression as a result of a brain injury and said "Fuck it" (as I did about everything at the time). I'm getting much better now, and look forward to returning to that lifestyle.

It all started for me when I began studying Buddhism and Eastern religion. Also, I am a huge animal lover, and the thought of animals dying so that I can eat meat is not a thought I'm happy with. If you spend time with Pigs or Cows or other meat animals, you'll see that they are as smart (less so for cows, more so for pigs) as Dogs are, and just as loving.

I say this though I still eat meat, but I am dedicated to changing back again.

When I was vegetarian, I never tried to change anyone's mind. Like with religion, I believe in letting people make their own decisions. People who push their beliefs on others are being rude and selfish. I agree with your stated philosophy; "Don't bitch at me for not eating meat and I won't bitch at you for eating meat." Well said.

  13. @Honest_Ape Thanks. I really didn't want to start that post out with that comment of mine, but I hear things all the time. I am the ONLY vegan in my little town. There aren't even vegetarians here (save one that eats fish, which is more a "liar" than a vegetarian), and so I'm not surrounded by support or connection.

While I don't go around pressing people for change, I often don't even like to bring my lifestyle up to new people, because I know I'm going to get bombarded with all the "why" questions, and instantly uncomfortable. It has taken a while to be prepared for these encounters.

I'm glad you are getting better. As I say often, if you are living life according to your beliefs, you are living the right life regardless. Animals can change us as much as people can. I also strongly agree with the Buddhist beliefs to better ourselves.
