  1. It seems ridiculous the amount of stupid hate speech that goes on at digg. They get so angry hating on each other that they have no other way to deal with it than take it out on someone like Andy who's totally awesome.

    Selfishly, I wish he would quit digg so he could come to mixx and submit awesome stories all the time. It's up to him, but I wouldn't (and didn't) stay there.

    Digg does not deserve MrBabyMan and they do deserve the kind of comments that are on that thread.

    Censorship sucks, bad. Digg practices that. I know, I've also been there.

    I can see why MrBabyMan wouldn't want to give up his "title" and his position of Earth-changing importance and power, probably rivaling that of people such as, oh i dunno, at least a platinum selling recording artist or a newcaster in a place like, say, Cleveland. If not bigger, due to the viral nature of social news.

    But then, MrBabyMan, you would be making the BIGGEST statement of your life so far by telling Digg and them to fuck right off. Maybe switching your focus to Reddit, and throw some crumbs our way on Mixx too. Hell, come to Mixx full time, and bring some of your cooler followers with you, dude.

    But really, you don't deserve the abuse, and Digg and Kevin don't deserve YOU.

    i would but i had my account deleted in support of cGt2099 (Greg Davies) a long time ago, and wrote letters to the vacuous void (asking Kevin to be CC'ed). even that didn't work.

    so i posted a link to thehun (old school, eh?) and found someone to report that as abuse. that worked. they never responded, of course.

    actually it wasn't JUST about cGt, but also about my own sense of mistreatment on there too, and many, many others. but once I saw the story about Greg, that was the final straw. to HELL with Digg.

    it's about quality, not quantity.

    and the accountability on Mixx seems to really, really help, or something.

  9. It's a shame MrBabyMan gets this kind of treatment. He's been submitting quality stories for years now and truly deserves the number one spot. He's also a very nice guy and as far as I can tell is not pushing any agenda or working for anyone.The Digg community should be proud to have him as an active member.
    All this as opposed to Mixx where one of the top members is a biggot who's trying to push his own twisted agenda.

    i think that is why MBM is making it into a big thing and i guess threatening to, umm, BURY DIGG!

    I've completely lost count of the stories that others have submitted FIRST (on digg AND redit) and then seen their chance at the front page lost when MBM resubmits the EXACT same URL and story and his bunch of followers get his one to the front page in effect robbing the first submitter of their rightful 15 minutes.
    The cartoon his twitter thingy referrs to is pretty accurate as far as I can tell.
    Yes, he does post a lot of good and original content, but if you keep your eyes open you'll see plenty of 'recycled' stories from only a few hours before hitting the front page under his name instead of the rightful submitter.
    However, its a bit sad that anyone is getting their panties in a twist about who is the top/best/uber/pineapple/mostest-fantasticest digger. Get a life!

    @charbarred I'm not sure who you're talking about, but you should try to work it out with that user. The last thing we need here is the same deep-rooted resentment they have at digg.

    @BanMaster there are many ways to arrive at a story, and even if he does this perhaps that is a compliment to original submitter.

    see on here, you can find something and email it to your followers and the orig. submitter gets the credit. i don't think you can do that on Digg.

    i love to find (MixxMine, i call it) something cool from some guy with like12 Karma Points and 2 followers, and share it, and give credit to the submitter. that is the way to go, and we all need to do that more. not to brag, but i know i've gotten a couple dozen or more new users here greater exposure and the subsequent more friends, which is a VIRTUOUS CIRCLE. thanks to Mixx for making that possible and necessary.

    @MrBabyMan i think it's time for a statement from MrBabyMan on what the story is and his rationale for whatever his actions are.

    i still hold that this is a big game, and the rules are decided by the software and site admins.

    this site has protections against these problems, so it really can't happen.

  23. All digg has to do to COMPLETELY stop the 'hating' is to simply NOT list who the submitter is for a 24/48 hour period after the story has been submitted, and not allow shouts from the submitter to their blind followers about the particular story for the same time period!

    Its really that simple. But they'll never do that.

  33. I've never been a superuser on Digg, though I do Digg. The viciousness there can be amazing. This is why I've found myself loving Mixx so. Right now, it doesn't seem to have that type of hatred and I hope it stays that way. I don't understand going after one user. It seems that if there was a problem, it would be with Digg itself. Not its users. They are the ones who admin the site. I think people just enjoy witch hunts, personally.

    I certainly wouldn't let people run me off the board. His diggs are quality content. *shrug*

    Are you saying the hostility being engineered towards MBM is originating at Digg? Or, are you implying that Digg is orchestrating all of this as part of some grand publicity stunt (like they did twice previously with the "digg revolts")?

    Make no mistake, the most recent "Digg revolt" was an organized P.R. stunt that was thought up and carried out by Digg brass. They were hoping the hype would draw in new users and provide a false ray of hope for old ones. It didn't work as well as expected, but certainly was not an all-out flop. Digg long ago figured out that any controversy involving them translates into a TON of free publicity, and that this publicity could be exploited and engineered through planned controversies.

    If you meant something completely unrelated to my theories contained within the above paragraph, please elaborate on exactly what you meant by the statement in question.

    @FatLester if you read cGt2099's comment above, he has clarified that it wasn't a Digg employee, but a girlfriend of one.

    i'd just as soon forget about the other person you asked about, but go ahead and mixxmail me if you are all that curious. i'm kind of over it. in fact, i'm kind of backing off of Mixx at the moment, after months of extremely hyperactive Mixxing...i'm worn out! and a little pissed about a couple things too, to be honest.

    too much of anything is bad, so i'm moderating my Mixx intake for a few weeks.
