  1. Pretty kick ass vid on that site... something similar happens annually at a small spillway in Shawano, WI. Except they are all near the surface and all the locals head out to watch, and some say it's like you can walk across the water on them there are so many.

  3. my first thought is that they could have been headed upstream to spawn as other fish do when the conditions are right, and got held up by the dam. i've seen large numbers of catfish do this after a very heavy spring rainy period in Lake Hodges (so.cal.) one time...it looked like 1000s of catfish (i didn't have a boat) or more, some VERY large ones, were all headed upstream.

    but then i could be wrong. the lollygagging seems odd for fish that are about to spawn, but then maybe once they got all held up, they depleted the oxygen rapidly and kind of slowed down..?

    either way, great find. i really enjoyed it and might suggest it for the Hall of Fame, actually.
