  2. @dan.knows

It has nothing to do with Obama or anybody else being Black. In fact, Hillary was the first woman who had a
major chance of being President--issues will arise that have nothing to do with the person's race, color
    religion, or gender.

Don't make the issue racial b/c it really isn't. The article is quite objective, it is an observation of Obama's grueling
schedule that's a bit improbable. Coupled with his gaffes.

  3. well....... all of these posts aren't doing anything but increasing his fame...

  4. After months of touring and after so many states, I think it's human to make a mistake like that.

And Obama will be president, no doubt there.

  5. @MrCooker

Ahem, sure, of course. It's funny the Obama supporters, they are so positive about everything. If you're so sure
that he's (SIC) going to be President, then why is Senator Clinton still in the Democratic Race?

    Don't answer---the question is rhetorical.

  6. This seems a bit of an attack story rather than anything else

  7. @newshunter

    From the submission:

"His campaign's almost impossibly high level of activity, mental and physical, unrelenting day after day for month upon month is incredibly hard to maintain," he says. "The temptation to maintain it psycho-pharmacologically is great, especially for someone with a history of drug use. The drugs of choice would be amphetamines or cocaine, which can cause amazing mistakes, errors of incredible stupidity."

In his book, Dreams From My Father, Obambi admitted his drug use when young: "Pot (marijuana) had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow (cocaine) when you could afford it. Not smack (heroin), though."

Teen-age drug use isn't, of course, evidence for its use in one's 40s. But when someone who may be elected President of the United States starts behaving suspiciously, then it's justified to ask that those suspicions be allayed.

Thus, To The Point calls for Barack Hussein Obama to be drug tested."

The submission is written by a doctor with a point of view of what he observes vis-a-vis Obama's behavior and conduct.

It would seem that it is the opposite of an attack piece--but one based in fact.

Very original! You get an A for Effort! And an F for
    lack of critical thinking! :-)

That's it, I'm a neo-con! When all else fails, and you
run out of arguments to justify your position/s pull the
    old "you're nothing but a "neo-con - racist. war-monger-
pick your epithet" because you don't support my canditate, out of
your debating--or lack thereof--bag of tricks!

  13. @DerivativeRe - Since you saw no reason not to pigeonhole me, I saw no reason not to place you in a box consistent with your statements. You are a pot calling a kettle black. Let's just agree to disagree. Sniping back and forth is not going to solve anything, and we are unlikely to convince each other of much.

  17. as a person who believe that all drugs should be legal, not just ones that make the pharmaceutical industry loads of money, and not just ones that make people stupid, i have to say: It's his fucking business if he's on cocaine, and no one elses.

George W. Bush used to do coke and is known to drink heavily.

Nancy Reagan was on prescribed drugs when she started the "just say no" campaign.

Meat is a drug, it makes people more aggressive.

EVERYTHING IS A MIND ALTERING SUBSTANCE...the mind is constantly going through different states...elevation, oxygen, food, mood, sex, ...it all effects the mind.

Hell, let's outlaw SLEEPING eh? Or am I the only one that takes 10-15 minutes to wake up in the morning?

Just think: the 3am call comes in and "dubya" has been drinking all night, sleeping deeply and rolls out of bed, misinterprets the contents of the calls, and says "nuke 'em".....it could happen.

    Yes, LET'S OUTLAW SLEEP..for everyone's own good.

there is nothing wrong with a little blow once in a while, or weed, or booze, or coffee, or cigarrettes, or prozac, or whatever....get a life.

GET A LIFE if you think otherwise...and stay the fuck out of my life.

    • (0 Kudos received)
  18. @yoda - But, how do you *really* feel about this? ;o)

I don't know why it has become normal for everybody to get into everybody else's business. I'm not a big drug fan, but that is mainly because even the prescription ones are mean to me. Alcohol was my drug of choice for a while, but not long. If you do drugs (and you are right, *everybody* does drugs) and you do not make society worse because of it, it is nobody else's business. There are so many things that should be nobody's business, but that our guilt-racked forbears passed down a proclivity to make laws about: sex, drugs, and probably rock and roll. If you can do what you do without hurting somebody else, have at it. That's more that the do-gooders, lawmakers, and government can manage; there's some folks doing society some serious damage.

  19. so was Hillary on blow when using her fake old, southern African-American accent when she came down to Selma or her fake working-class Indianian accent? Obama and McCain or all the other past candidates didn't need fake accents. Or when she made up all that shit about sniper fire. Or her great head giving ability, I beg to differ. jk. McCain has screwed up many a times also. He will soon have more progressed dementia which is similar to Obama's cracked out answers.

  22. Why do you always submit stories that enrage people, then engage them to insult them? What is your goal in this community?

    • (0 Kudos received)
  23. @calinazaret

I didn't know that submitting a story about Obama
just like others on the other political divide submit stories
that are over the top enrage people also, but we won't go
    into that.

You mean some people get angry because they don't like
their issues to have another point of view that are not lock stock and smoking
barrel in line with their pov?

    Awww, that's too bad.

That being the case we see that there is the case to be made for censorship
and you sir, apparently are part of the problem.

I have an idea, don't read my submissions if you don't like them. The stories
    garner the attention not me.

Now have a nice day. As to your allegations, they are nonsensical. My role in this community
has been to bring the highest quality content and I have.

My record here at Mixx speaks for itself. You speak for yourself solely.

  24. I do believe this story should get out there and more people should read it. Given the bullshit I am going to say after a serious 12 hours flight, this doctor here would really think I'm on drugs :) Little sleep, crazy schedule, hell yeah! The problem is I don't smoke, drink, or take any drugs. I do take great pleasure in my afternoon chocolate milk and the series I watch in the evening to relax.

If I think back, I had a 5 months period when I slept 4 hours in the afternoon and worked or went to school in the rest of the time. I did look worse than a junkie...

Maybe this doctor has experience, but things are so easy to misinterpret these days, I wouldn't have risked my reputation like that, getting involved in mean political schemes.

So I hope this story gets really popular and that those who read it are able to also read between the lines. Just my two cents :)

Cheers all, good to be back at commenting :)

just White House/Republican spin of fear

  26. This story smells so damn swift boatish!! I mean really, what kind of legit doctor will , with no evidence, except the fact that someone is "high energy", accuse them of using drugs? only a paid off doctor with an agenda... and what kind of person gives this sort of piece credit? only those with some sort of agenda. Sensationalist Crap with no value whats over except to create friction and division.

Fubby thing is that Bush had an known coke and booze issue, and you don't hear a damn peep from his supporters. What blatant hypocrisy.

  29. I think we definitely need more objective presidential diverse submissions on Mixx. For those such as I that are on the fence swing voters to get some credible information. DeriviativeRe has all the right to submit stuff like this, Kathrinec should be able to submit all her pro Obama stuff too and anyone else. There needs to be accurate, factual submissions that TV shows wont dig out and find on these people. None of them are angels. We need to find out about every candidate and not blindly vote just cause of speeches. I don't really agree with this submit but I voted up anyway. I think Obama is telling dumbass statements and should set himself straight. I don't know if he has corrected those statements mentioned or not. It's a good look into the future if he keeps up the statements.

    • (0 Kudos received)
  31. @DerivativeRe what are these two wrongs you refer too?

    • (0 Kudos received)
  32. @brad0022

    Thanks.

Although this particular post provides is rather extreme, all
submissions need not be vilified nor the submitter demonized.

    • (0 Kudos received)
  33. @yoda

Obviously Bush had, or could have a drug issue.
So may Obama, as this submission asserts.

What the two wrongs I defer to, is the argument that
just b/c one does the other one should also.

I'm not going to get into the whole political
argument/s here about the merit of Bush v
    Obama etc.

    The Two Wrongs Don't Make
a Right comment is that people's argument
that if Bush and drugs was ok, so should arguendo
    Obama's alleged drug use.

That's a morally slippery slope for any argument.

On this matter I disagree--both either have or might have the Presidency.
They need to be careful with their physical self.

That being said--do I think Drugs should be legalized?

    Yes.

And your previous post has a lot of merit and I tend to agree
with it about all of our private business being and remaining ours
    and ours alone.

But I think we're brought up with a certain expectation
that the Office of President should only be reserved for
    the clean and sober.

And that a siting President and/or Candidate must be clean and/sober.

I think there's some truth to that.

    • (0 Kudos received)
  34. @DerivativeRe thats the problem with posts like this, you are already using statements like "obama's alleged drug use" before you know it this croakers politically charged FUD will be considered truth by people that do not know any better. And that is exactly why they do it, becuase they count on peoples ignorance to believe such crap. EX: ask some people in WV Obama's religion they'll say hes a Muslim.

So why spread something with no basis in truth, unless it was meant to be funny! I mean the guy is even calling him " Obambi".

Also You contacted me via mixxmail accusing me of always down voting your stuff. this is the only one of your submissions i have down voted and its becuase its crap! Please don't try and censor me by threatening you will not vote for my stuff . Don't vote for it then dude!

  41. @brad0022

It's a joke. My inbox is flooded by these people. I pretty much across up-vote a submission even though I might disagree with it-0-which is about half of my votes.

I don't even understand what voting has to do with content.

Be that as it may I could care less; but the hypocrisy of down voting while asking me, all day long to up vote is humorous.

You're right, upvote for cash. :-)

    • (0 Kudos received)
  42. brad0022 brad0022 left a comment and deleted it.
  43. @DerivativeRe

Yea exactly. I read or try my best to read/view every submission that I vote on to make up my own mind. Thats what I like about Mixx versus Digg. Everyone there votes blindly over there. I have. After a while, the comments became much more enteraining than the submitted Digg stuff. I dont use Digg anymore.

Yea I get so many freakin emails that I want to check out but others by the title I don't really care about. I can only get on the interweb early morning, at lunch and then after 5 during work hours. So little time. What does everyone do that lets them submit 15 all day long. Good for them.

    • (0 Kudos received)
  44. @brad0022

    LMAO.... exactly.

Unless I feel the story is egregious or outrageous I won't downvote it, But even then,
most of the time I feel that I can still upvote it b/c the person/s
made an effort to submit it for content--so I'll give them the benefit of
    the doubt.

Just because I don't like something it may very well be in the news,
topical and newsworthy. It's a relevant story. It's content.

Most of the time the submission are in the public domain anyway. So it's even hard
then, to know if the submitter has the same pov as the submission.

Which in my mind still doesn't matter--I can still make my own decision to upvote
it and then give my critical opinion, good or bad.

It's up to me to then, obviously, to give my comments negative or positive.

If I feel the submission is done with malice or it's spam, I'll downvote it
but most of the time I won't even bother with doing that--it's silly
and a waste of my time.

What was hypocritical above is that I receive from the same people anywhere
from a couple to a few dozen requests as my "friends" to vote on something.

    Now that's irony.

I stopped going to Digg a long long time ago. It reminds me of junior hight school. :-)

  45. @DerivativeRe whats the issue?thats all you can respond LOL?? i downvoted one of your articles that i think is crap. yet you are acting indignent, when you are worse. You have down voted something becuase you disagree with it, so dont come here talking out of the side of your neck, acting holier than thou. it just goes to show your self importance when you will only consider voting for something when others vote for you. So much for quality of content.

  55. @brad0022 goodness! I'm known as that Obama loving Mixxer! wowzers.

Yah, I'm all for all sides - and hey, everyone has a right to post what they want to post, but what I take issue with is that it is an outrageous claim from a questionable source... it doesn't have a reasonable leg to stand on given what it is.

I mean, we're all biased, but I try to be fair. I don't upvote any Hagee/McCain stories regardless of where they're from, just as I didn't with Jeremiah Wright/Obama stuff. (Actually, I think I submitted a Wright story way back when... the Moyers interview, but I see that as a bit different, but sure, it shows bias)

And I guess, I feel that this is not only an unfair "smear" that plays to prejudice at Obama's expense, but the same thing for those who do suffer from drug addiction or various other mental health issues... it reinforces/creates misinformation about responsible psychiatry/psychology, symptoms, the mentally ill themselves etc...

My dear friend is 6 feet under as we speak because of addiction. It's not a political tool, it's a disease so heart wrenching I don't even have the words for it. I take it's portrayal and the portrayal of its sufferers seriously.

And I'm not passing judgement. I'm really not. But sure, my bias comes out, and this was a rare occurence of a katharinec down vote.

But if this was from nytimes.com or wsj.com, I wouldn't have touched it. In order to say something "out there" you have to prove some credibility first.... even if this guy is the most brilliant doctor of all time, I have no way of knowing, so I'm not going to use my vote power to further his voice/message, widen his audience. Taking into account this dynamic of presentation/source/etc., the presentation itself was iresponsible, even if the doc was well credentialed, because of what the viewer could know and could not know from the context.

That makes it irresponsible social media, and that is why I down voted it. Nothing personal.
