  1. I just started Plurking. But it's kinda lame you can only update by the web. It's not Twitter. I can't see me doing this very often.

  5. Actually i've been using it in one of my tab of firefox and it gets really addictive, really fast. It's a sort of chat service, like the old IRC of old times, but it also develop "horizontally" because every message sent may become a "conversation page".
    The more friends you invite, the more you think you are in a pub telling jokes and making comments. It's only missing beer and chips :)
    It's way more personal than twitter.

    you can only update via web (or mobile web) since they haven't released their api yet - it's a brand new site. API is in the works, and then everyone and their mother will build every stupid app to all of our heart's content :)

    while Plurk might be a weird/dumb name, point is that it is memorable. If it were a more generic name, you'd probably forget it. I think weird names are part of the rules of Web 2.0. or something. :)

    yes, it does have that nice old time irc feel to it. Twitter can/should be like this as well. Time will tell on this one.
