  1. Sad day for jounalisim. Jim McKay has passed at 86. For me he was part of the reason I watched the Olympics or for that matter the news way back in '70's -

  2. He really was a one-of-a-kind and really did sports in general a great service by caring about what he was reporting about. it sure is a sad day but he contributed a lot.

  3. @sarge8521 - Exactly! he reported with a 'real person' feel not just reading from the teleprompter. I was a teenager when the Munich Olyimpic story came to be and recall the reporting.
