  13. Carlin was THE comedian of his time - ANY time. He had a huge impact, not just on comedy but on how we perceive our world. Insightful, intelligent, cutting-edge and above all funny, Carlin was at his best when puncturing the pompous and stating the obvious. His loss leaves a gaping hole in modern culture. Goodbye George... give 'em hell in Heaven!
