  1. I disagree with one major premise in the article. If a social media site drive 10,000 visitors and the bounce rate is 90% (a terrible number) you still gain 1,000 potential repeat visitors. If only 1% of those love the site (10 visitors) and share the url with like minded people in theory the site will eventually have an increase in quality traffic.

  2. I have to say the author was right on the button about traffic and the ROI. For example, mine is a more technical website and my conversion goal (or can i say ROI) is the number of clicks on ADs and when I submit to Stunbleupon, I do get a decent traffic out of it but honest ROI it wasn't that great. but then its fair to say, I can guarentee most of the visitors would not be the targeted audience so one can say...may be you try to spam yourself...
