Hello my readers, if you are a regular user of Mixx, you should read about this new feature in their newsletter.

    This has got to be the worst Mixx submission ever. Why the heck are you submitting such lame crap? First of all, if I didn't know better, I'd have thought you submitted only a link to Digg a blank page. But then someone told me that you wrote one sentence. And I looked again and noticed that the entire sentence is your description of the post: "Hello my readers, if you are a regular user of Mixx, you should read about this new feature in their newsletter." Then you submit that to Mixx.

    Let me ask you: where's the original content? Do you know how to think for yourself? Do your friends know how to think for themselves, or did you game Mixx by getting this piece of crap on the front page? Seriously. This is the worst poop on the history of this planet.

    Blogging, my friend, is not for you, hishman.

    if you are trying to say that 32 upvotes means that your story is quality, think again. I'm sure that many of those votes were just from blind voting and you just sending out shouts and requests to have your friends vote the story.

    The reason that myself and a few other regular Mixxers here are telling you that your content is crap is for the following reasons (try to follow along):

    1 - you submitted a piece of content that was 1 sentence long.

    2 - the reason that you have so many views on it now is that lots of Mixxers are checking it out and cannot believe the poor quality, and wanted to see it for themselves.

    3 - the 2 links in the article were:
    a - both pointing to the same place
    b - not pointing to the original source (the Mixx blog) where the announcement was made
    c - Mr. Javo's article basically copied the content that had been in the Mixx blog but at least he added a few things to the conversation (i.e he advocated that his readers check out MIxx and showed us his Mixx group).

    4 - what you have done essentially is what's called bloghopping (go look it up), where you are linking to something other than the source. Had this been the Propeller community, an admin would most likely have yanked your story. Frankly, I'm surprised that you were lucky enough not to have Mixx remove it.

    5 - I see that you submitted that article to digg as well, and it received a whopping 2 votes, including your own and some guy named nepspeed82. Looks like the community has spoken over there and clearly doesn't think anything of your submission.

    6 - Also did a little investigative work, and saw that you've submitted a total of 63 stories to Mixx from babeltalk.net. Every one of these 63 has been submitted by you. While I didn't click though to all of them, a random sampling of them showed that these stories are all 1 sentence long. I'm sure if I took a closer look its just the same people voting on all of them.

    While I can't speak for everyone, Hishaman - I feel that you bring no value to this community and strongly suggest that you carefully read and re-read this comment before trying to participate again.

I see exactly, judging from the comments what is going on here. Please Hishman, re think your submission strategy. This community does not need or tolerate these kind of submissions.

    But are they really? My Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/tamar) is more interesting than your blog, and I'm limited there to 140 characters.

    Honestly, if that is truly the case, it speaks volumes for the number of idiots there are using the internet. There are so many more quality sites out there, and yours clearly ranks the lowest.

    By the way, you didn't annoy me. The fact is that you're a good example for social media mediocrity. The biggest flaw is the fact that you don't even realize you did anything wrong. I'm sorry I offended you by screaming in your face like hell, but yes, you kind of deserve it. Your contributions to Mixx thus far (as per nowsourcing) are purely crap. Let me spell that out: C-R-A-P.

    Words of advice:
    1. Learn to write real posts.
    2. Learn to think for yourself.
    3. Learn to use social media in a way that benefits everyone.

    While this post has mostly berated your involvement, I will pat you on the back for the fact that you actually wrote a lengthy response to my criticism. See? That, too, is longer than the post you submitted to Mixx. That's a start.

    Dude, I think what she's trying to tell you is that there are better ways for you to "broadcast" your favorite links instead of just fooling people into visting your blog.

    Let me try to be constructive:

    Save up your links for a week.

    Write ONE post Titled "Best Links of the Week"
    In it, don't just list out the links. Give some thought and time to why you chose THOSE links instead of the thousands of others you COULD have chosen.

    Submit that post to Mixx.

    That adds some value to the world because it shows that you aren't just treating people like cattle--trying to get them to your blog to display ads to them. You are treating people with respect and valuing their time.

    @hishaman: Why are you "sharing the links to good articles only?" Why not submit the ORIGINAL article DIRECTLY to Mixx? What value does your post have for the readers when they have to click on your one-sentence submission to the original source? Nowsourcing called it bloghopping. Most other people call it blogspam. Your submission was nothing but blogspam. That's poor taste.

    Dude seriously....you can't flex Tamar. I have been following her for a long time. Even before I knew her. Tamar's advice is highly sought after. Um she even writes for Mashableand Lifehacker. (Sorry Tamar, had to name drop). She is also HIGHLY respected in both the Social Media and Blogging communities. I think her popular ratio on Digg is somewhere in the neighborhood of 70%.
    So dude...you can't win, just stop.

    Okay, so here are the pertinent parts:

    Right. Essentially the "About" page is saying that no content from babeltalk.net should be allowed on Mixx (unless it provides value). Currently, it does not.

    It's like submitting a Digg page to Mixx. You don't do that. It's not proper etiquette. Yet that is exactly what you are doing because you're submitting a submission of a submission (of yet another submission), and this is what you say you do on your "About" page.

    It's fine if you do that on your site. It's CRAP if you submit that to a social site like Mixx.

    I hope you do turn a new leaf and take this criticism to heart.

    i blind voted this article. i gave credibility to the fact that it already had up-teen votes. my habit is to vote first, ask questions later. (i developed that habit when i used read the article but forget to vote)

    i thought this mixx article would make a nice addition to some of my groups, so i added it to a few, then i wanted to see the comments, and saw the commotion. i went back and deleted the submissions from the groups, but forgot to change my upvote, probably mis-leading others to follow my lead.

    ill try to keep a closer eye on the problem, and thanks to everyone who nipped this in the bud. i seldom get burned voting for spam on here, so this was a bit unexpected.
