C. Bulik & L. Reba-Harrelson indicated, in their study, that 75% of American women between the ages of 25 and 45 exhibit symptoms of "disordered eating behavior". Is it time to reevaluate our definition of "normal"?

Anorexia is a genetic disorder, not a learned behaviour. This directly conflicts with the popularly-held notion that anorexia is brought on by a desire to conform to the media's idealized body images of waif-thin supermodels.
